1. Who we are

Digital Karobar provides point-of-sale (POS) and shop-management software for small businesses in Pakistan through the Digital Karobar POS Android app and the website digital-karobar.com ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

• Account information — shop name, business type, city, owner name, mobile number, username and password. Passwords and PINs are stored only as one-way hashes; we cannot read them.
• Business records you enter — products, prices, stock, sales and receipts, purchases, expenses, staff accounts, and your customers' and suppliers' names, phone numbers, addresses and balances (khata). You control this data; we process it only to provide the service to you.
• Device information — device name, model, platform, app version and a random device identifier, used to register the device to your shop, keep sign-in secure and let the owner block a lost device.
• Location (optional) — only when a delivery rider taps "save this location" for a customer's address. It is collected in the foreground at that moment only, never in the background, and stored with that customer's address.
• Camera (optional) — used to scan barcodes and QR codes. Images are processed on the device and are not uploaded or stored.
• Voice search (optional) — when you tap the microphone, your phone's built-in speech recognition service turns speech into text; we receive only the resulting search text.
• Bluetooth and local network (optional) — used only to connect to your receipt printer. No data about nearby devices is sent to us.
• Technical logs — our servers record IP address, time and request details for security and troubleshooting, kept for a limited time.

3. How we use information

• To provide the POS service: sign-in, syncing your records between devices, receipts, reports and backups.
• To keep accounts secure: detecting wrong-password attempts, blocking lost devices, two-step login.
• For billing of your subscription and for customer support when you contact us.

We do not sell your data, show advertising, or use your business records for advertising or profiling.

4. Sharing

We share data only with service providers that host and operate our servers, under confidentiality, and when required by law. Receipts or statements you choose to send (for example on WhatsApp) are shared by you through that app. The app uses Google Play services for in-app updates and on-device barcode scanning.

5. Security

All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Each shop's data is kept separate from every other shop's. Passwords and PINs are hashed, sign-ins expire after a period of inactivity, and an owner can remove any device from the shop at any time.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time:

• In the app: Settings → "Yeh device" → "Account delete karein", then confirm with your password (staff can confirm with their PIN).
• On the web: follow the steps at https://staging.digital-karobar.com/account/delete.

When a shop owner deletes the account, the shop is closed immediately and all of its data — products, sales, customers, staff and backups — is permanently erased within 30 days. When a staff member deletes their account, their sign-in is removed immediately; sales they recorded remain part of the shop's business records.

7. Children

The service is meant for businesses and is not directed at children under 13.

8. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify shop owners in the app.
